Tripp Lite was founded in 1922 by inventor Graham Trippe, who patented a precision-focused automobile headlight. This Chicago-based company later developed rotating warning lights for police, fire and ambulance vehicles. Tripp Lite’s biggest transition came with the invention of the personal computer in the early 1980s. They became the first company to manufacture a UPS system for desktop PCs. The Internet age ushered in further product developments, including a variety of cables, adapters and converters.
Today Tripp Lite manufactures over 5,000 products and maintains a global presence with offices and partners worldwide. Tripp Lite was acquired by Eaton in 2021.
