Rayovac has been producing batteries in Wisconsin since the early 1900s. Originally known as the French Battery Company, its flagship product was a six-inch cell battery. The company name was to Ray-O-Vac in 1940 as a nod to then-novel electron ray and vacuum tube technology.
Rayovac is now a division of Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc.
