5' Instructor's Desk

Constructed of solid oak, hardwood and oak veneers, this unit serves as a complete demonstration center offering a spacious work surface. It's clear UV finish highlights the beauty of real wood while offering superior chemical resistance. Included are 4 drawers (3 small, 1 file), and a cupboard for storage of large items. The drawers are expertly crafted from the finest materials with dovetail joinery throughout. Drawers run on epoxy-coated steel glides with nylon bearings for smooth operation. The top is your choice of 1" black solid epoxy resin or 1" phenolic resin. Unit comes complete with one each: combination water/gas fixture, GFI protected AC duplex receptacle, polypropylene trap, pull out writing board, support rod with crossbar, rubber base molding and locks for cupboard and all drawers. Optional Side Desk

This side desk is a great addition to the 5' Instructor's Desk. It attaches to the Instructor's Desk providing a functional work surface and storage area for teachers while sitting. Crafted from solid oak, oak and hardwood veneers it offers the warmth and beauty that is inherent in naturally finished wood. This side desk features one 13 1/2"W x 18"D x 10 1/4" H file drawer, two 13 1/2" W x 18"D x 4"H storage drawers and one 19 1/2"W x 18"D x 3"H pencil drawer. All drawers come with locks. The unit includes a 14 1/2" W x 20"D pull-out writing board. The classroom side of the unit features a bookshelf with one fixed shelf. The construction and materials are identical to the Instructor's Desk. Choice of 1"black solid epoxy resin or 1" phenolic resin top. Overall size is 48"W x 30"D x 30"H. The unit can be attached to either the right or left side of the Instructor's Desk.

Selecting Table Tops

When selecting a table top it is important to understand how the table will be used. Diversified Woodcrafts, Inc. offers 2 different top surfaces for this product to accommodate a variety of settings.

1" Phenolic Resin is a composite thermo-fused under heat and pressure to form a solid black chemical resistant composite throughout the entire thickness of the top. It is designed for use as countertops, pegboards and reagent racks. Phenolic Resin will not stain or etch when exposed to most chemical solvents. Phenolic Resin exhibits no effect with subjected to these common laboratory chemicals: Nitric Acid 30%, Acetic Acid 98%, Hydrofluoric Acid 48%, Sulfuric Acid 33%, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Phosphoric Acid 85% and others. Color, black.

1" Solid Epoxy Resin is impervious to normal laboratory chemicals and heat. It's monolithic composition eliminates the possibility of swelling, delamination, and exposure of the substrate. It's soft, low glare surface is simple to clean. Solid Epoxy Resin exhibits no effect when subjected to these common laboratory chemicals: Nitric Acid 70%, Acetic Acid (glacial), Hydrochloric Acid 20%, Sulfuric Acid 60%, Methyl Alcohol, Toluene, Benzene, and others. Solid Epoxy Resin is solid, homogeneous, molded from modified epoxy resins, completely oven cured during processing. It is extremely durable and completely impervious to moisture. Exposed edges and corners are finished with a 1/8" bevel. Color, black.
